The Riveter X Armoire

In less than one week, The Riveter’s flagship opens its doors for the first time as a collaborative workspace. We built The Riveter because we needed it and because we believe that women deserve a place to define success on their own terms. Women are equal, but we are not the same. And the numbers around women in entrepreneurship are devastating. Venture capitalists invested $58.2 billion in companies with all-male founders in 2016 while women received just $1.46 billion in VC money. (PitchBook)  The status quo is, quite simply, very far from okay.

When Women Support Each Other, Incredible Things Happen

And this is why The Riveter is more than a space to work. We’re a movement. We aren’t celebrities, we are working mothers.  We are not a club, we are a community. We own businesses and build brands. We give to good causes and lead our nation’s youth. We know that there is strength in numbers and to truly amplify our voices, we built The Riveter so we could share what we know and who we know.

We are privileged to finally have a space to share our beliefs and put our network into action. Last week, we hosted a small event with our very first supporters in collaboration with the female-founded on-demand beauty app Tousled. And this week, we’re excited to invite all of our members and friends to a two-day pop up shop with Armoire. The Seattle-based Armoire was founded by an amazing team of three women and one man. It is the modern woman’s life hack to shopping: a rental service for high-end, everyday clothes tailored to a customer’s preferences. We love Armoire’s sophisticated concept and incredible execution. And, of course, we love their shared commitment to finding a way to make women’s complicated lives easier in some small way.

The Riveter, Tousled, Armoire and the hundreds of other female-founded start-ups across the country share a vision and face some incredible challenges in a male-dominated culture. We’re stepping out, taking big risks, and seizing the opportunity to change the landscape. And we would love for you to join us.
