833-WMN-WORK, The Riveter’s New Partnership with Zipwhip

We envision a world where workplaces are rooted in equality of opportunity for all, rather than for a select few. And while entry-level employment is nearly even between men and women, less than one-quarter of women are elevated to the C-suite, according to the McKinsey Women in the Workplace 2018 report. Against this backdrop, women now have become the catalyst for change – claiming their seat at the boardroom table and working to redefine their tomorrow.

Women today are founding more companies, negotiating higher pay and taking control of their careers, all while making sure corporate America recognizes their value. They are also working to ensure the next generation of women in business have the tools and opportunities in place to continue to build on this precedent – and we are here to help.

We are excited to announce the launch of a career advice text line and 833-WMN-WORK campaign alongside Zipwhip. 833-WMN-WORK will support the next generation of women in business through real-time advice via text message, a social media campaign and live events on Thursday, May 16.

Whether interested in pivoting a career path, starting a business from the ground up or navigating the ins and outs of a current workplace, women and their colleagues are encouraged to text 833-WMN-WORK (833-966-9675) to receive insights and practical advice from female entrepreneurs and executives that have encountered many of the same challenges and opportunities.

Women today are working to ensure the next generation of women in business have the tools and opportunities in place to continue to build on this precedent – and we are here to help.

On Thursday, May 16, we’ll dive deeper as a compelling group of entrepreneurs and executives such as Jennifer Carlson, executive director of Apprenti and Ignition Founder John Zagula will gather at our Capitol Hill location from 9-11 a.m. PDT to respond and engage with participants in real-time via text message. More executives will be added to the lineup in the coming days, with new additions announced via social media.

We’ll close out the campaign with 833-WMN-WORK: The Power of Women at Work, a networking event and panel discussion on May 16 at 6 p.m., which will feature anecdotes from our very own Founder and CEO Amy Nelson, Zipwhip SVP of People Kirsten Spoljaric and Merrie Williamson, VP of worldwide commercial business at Microsoft. We’ll also be livestreaming the event over our Instagram.

We’d love to have you join us, whether through text message or at the live event! Register for 833-WMN-WORK: The Power of Women at Work here, or text us directly at 833-WMN-WORK.

This campaign was built from our larger partnership with Zipwhip, a fellow Seattle startup. Zipwhip was looking for ways to provide new and interesting benefits to its 250+ employees and worked with us to develop a program to support and empower their team. Zipwhip employees can now access The Riveter’s coworking spaces and our learning and development opportunities for free, and we’re also working with them to develop custom training sessions that we’ll deliver on-site at Zipwhip’s office. This partnership is a true reflection of the modern workplace, where employees are provided with unique benefits that strengthen them both as professionals and as people.
