Join The Riveter Portland for sign making gathering in preparation for Womxn’s March Portland 2020. We’ll have signs to grab or supplies to make your own poster. Join us and get ready to show up for all women. This event and the marches kick off our activism and political power for a critical year ahead.
About the WOMXN’S MARCH, nationwide: The mission of Womxn’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. Womxn’s March is a womxn-led movement providing intersectional education on a diverse range of issues and creating entry points for new grassroots activists & organizers to engage in their local communities through trainings, outreach programs and events. Womxn’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect.
Portland Womxn’s March 2020 is committed to advancing political, economic, organizational and social power to create inclusive, safe spaces and an annual event for intersectional, inter-generational womxn and their allies.
The YWCA of Greater Portland, a Portland-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, is serving as as fiscal sponsor for the 2020 Portland Women’s March. The planning committee is comprised of a diverse group of womxn from across multiple communities and identities. All contributions will be used for the 2020 Portland Womxn’s March. Use of any residual funds will be determined by the community planning committee.
To be a vehicle through which womxn and their allies can cultivate political, economic, organizational and social power in a welcoming and inclusive space that supports creative problem solving, courageous conversations, and lasting transformative social change.
About POWER TO POWER TO is The Riveter’s regular program dedicated to highlighting key moments happening each month in our city. These events aim to activate & inform the community around important moments happening each month that directly impact working women.
