POSTPONED | Are We There Yet?!: How to Practice Patience While You Bring Your Goals to Life
October 11, 2017, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Patience is a crucially important skill for us to develop both personally and professionally. But how do we stay patient when things aren’t going our way or when our goals seem to be stagnating? In this session, we will show you how! You will walk away with the skills and strategies you need to cultivate patience both in relation to everyday frustrations (like waiting far too long for a coffee) as well as your longer-term goals (like building a business). You will also finish with a surprise tool that will help you overcome those feelings of frustration and defeat and regain the motivation you need to bring your vision and goals to life.
Katie is a Co-Founder and Certified Coach at Ama La Vida, an innovative coaching company that has partnered with The Riveter to provide all members a wide variety of personal and professional development opportunities. Katie began her career in Investment Banking and tried a range of different roles until finally realizing that society’s definition of “success” did not necessarily equate to happiness. She now specializes in helping people develop their own definition for success and empowering them to rigorously pursue it. Katie was trained by the Neuroleadership Institute and uses a brain-based coaching approach deeply rooted in neuroscience and positive psychology. She is passionate about ensuring that her clients not only develop new insights but are also equipped with the tools and strategies to implement those insights for meaningful and long-lasting change. Katie’s process is structured, rigorous, measurable and heavily focused on results. When she is not coaching her own clients, Katie is building the business and training new coaches who join Ama La Vida’s quickly growing platform.
Mandy is a Certified Coach at Ama La Vida, an innovative coaching company that has partnered with The Riveter to provide all members a wide variety of personal and professional development opportunities. Mandy has been teaching a variety of Human Communication courses at several colleges in the Midwest and Seattle since 2007 and has always loved helping and connecting with people. After having her son in 2014, she went back to teaching when he was 5 months old and while her love for the subject was still present, something felt different. Becoming a mother had definitely changed her and she yearned for a deeper connection with herself and with what it meant to be a woman. It was during that time that she read Brené Brown’s book Rising Strong, and felt called to find a way to facilitate her work. Mandy’s journey to coaching began after this new passion was ignited and she completed the iPEC training program in Seattle. In 2017, she went on to complete Brené Brown’s Daring Way certification training to become a facilitator of her work and research. Mandy’s coaching approach is one that honors the client’s story and focuses on creating and achieving goals. She does this through keeping clients accountable as well as helping them develop mindfulness and self-compassion techniques as they share their stories and goals. She is passionate about empowering women and mothers to own their stories and to be comfortable with imperfection. When not working, you can find Mandy playing with her (energetic) 3-year- old son, trying new breweries with her husband, binging on Ted Talks, or walking along the beach.GET TICKETS
