Join Cindy Gross, founder of Befriending Dragons, as she talks injustices surrounding us today, personal experiences and how to translate those into positive daily changes in your own life. We were all horrified when Ahmaud Arbery was lynched, when women first reported their #MeToo moments, and at so many other injustices. How do we take that shock and horror and translate it to daily changes in our own lives? How do we become the type of allies who turn the tide and make a difference? There are so many things we can do in our own lives, our own communities, and our own work. We’ll talk about how to do our own internal work first, use our privileges to help others, and influence the systems that shape our lives. If you went for a run or changed your profile picture in support of justice but don’t know what to do next, this is the talk for you. About Cindy Gross:  Cindy Gross is an Adaptive Community Leader & founder of Befriending Dragons: She nurtures equitable cultures where all women+ thrive & belong, creating healing paths for women+ who face workplace bullies & harassers. Cindy has met many scary dragons in her life – breast cancer, divorce, a layoff, changing roles & technologies, workplace harassment at Microsoft, constant striving to meet an impossible bar for success, & the idea that we always have to put work first. Most recently she left the corporate world for a rich community filled with people who create justice, meaning, allies, & dreams. Each time she steps back and looks at the situation from different angles. She befriends each dragon, learns how to make it a part of her past, and takes only the parts she wants forward to the next stage of her life. That’s what befriending dragons is all about – take those scary things & blend the best parts into our lives. Then we respond in the way we each need, the way that takes us down the path we want.
